Punchbowl is a summer cocktail festival celebrating devilishly creative drinks, live music and BBQ.
With over fifty plus vendors sampling their finest summer spirits, beer and cider cocktail creations, this event is sure to put a smile on festival goers’ faces— and a drink in their hand. PunchBowl is a tasting event like no other.
Located at the pne fairgounds, under the summer skies, the festival provides a fresh take on your average trade show, educating attendees on cocktail culture in a relaxed, attractive and fun atmosphere.
Punchbowl is a summer cocktail festival celebrating devilishly creative drinks, live music and BBQ. That said, the anchor of this amazing experience are the summer cocktails, based with spirits, craft beers and ciders. Punch Bowl will be working with the finest local and international spirit, beer and cider companies to showcase their products during the event.
I've spent over 15 years now either standing behind or managing a bar and it's guests. I started my career in Winnipeg, MB, Canada where I cut my teeth in all sorts of establishments from concert venues, casual restaurants, pool halls, nightclubs, and even a karaoke bar. After a short long-distance love affair with Vancouver, BC I packed my bags and moved there on New Year's day in 2011 hoping to ply my trade in it's world-class bar and hospitality community. Throughout my years on the west coast I've been fortunate enough to work in many of Vancouver’s top-tier restaurants and bars, including establishments under the umbrellas of the Donnelly Group, Glowbal Restaurant Group and Hawksworth Restaurant Group.

After beginning his journey in the dish pit of his local Southern Barbecue joint at age 15, chef Sean Reeve completed two culinary programs in French and Italian Culinary Arts at George Brown College in Toronto, before heading overseas to further his training at ALMA, Italy’s top culinary school. In the following years, chef Sean went on to work in kitchens across Europe and Canada, before winning Chopped Canada in spring 2014 and returning to Vancouver to open The Mackenzie Room, bringing a world of culinary techniques with him. When asked to describe the most important things to him as a chef, the answer was simple: a passion for food, taking care of every guest, and creating dishes that celebrate the hard work of the purveyors who bring the ingredients to his kitchen.
A staunch individualist, Breen preferred hands-on training to a formal culinary education, working the lines at restaurants across Canada. Eventually, the Vancouverite’s wanderlust took him to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he won accolades — and several awards — for his eclectic cuisine. Dubbed “The Canadian Rebel,” by local media, he was a driving force behind such hotspots as La Cave French Bistro, Marco Pierre White Grill, and Maine Oyster Bar and Grill.
Executive Chef, Wildebeest
Ian McHale manages the day-to-day back-of-house operations at Wildebeest, fusing his straightforward, old-school approach with contemporary technique. A true champion of Wildebeest’s farm-to-table ethos, he takes great pride in collaborating with local farmers and butchers to run the Gastown hotspot’s innovative nose-to-tail culinary program. He relishes the gastronomical freedom he has to work with offal and other unique cuts of meat, and spearheads the restaurant’s 100-per cent in-house charcuterie program.
Born and raised in Maryland, McHale first developed a passion for hospitality in 2010 while working at Mia Carolina Glyndon, a small mom-and-pop Italian restaurant in his hometown. After culinary school, he relocated across the pond to complete a 16-month stint at the acclaimed five star Merrion Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. He later took on the role of Senior Chef De Partie at the Michelin-starred Chapter One Restaurant where he further honed his skills working in a fast-paced kitchen. His hands-on experience helped him place in the final five at the Euro-Touques Young Chef of the Year Competition, Ireland’s premier culinary contest for talented young chefs under 26.
In May 2016, McHale relocated to Vancouver to take on an ambitious new challenge as Sous Chef at Wildebeest and was soon promoted to Chef De Cuisine before rising to the role of Executive Chef beginning in 2018.

Smoke and Bones BBQ is Vancouver’s International award winning barbecue company that specializes in the art of ”Low and Slow” Southern Barbecue. Real wood smoked barbecue cooked in big old smokers from the Deep South using hardwood fire and coals. BIG EASY FUNK ENSEMBLE
Big Easy Funk Ensemble celebrates the amazing variety of music that has grown out of New Orleans. With influences from 60s funk legends The Meters and Dr. John to more recent groups like Galactic and Trombone Shorty.
BEFE (pronounced ‘beefy’) is a 9 member band. It includes a 3–piece horn section comprised of Andrew Benton (Sax), Kevin Tang (Trombone) and Ryan Naso (Trumpet). The rhythm section includes Reece Worth on guitar, Eric Stephenson on bass, Tyler Gibson on keyboards/organ, Ryan Davis on drums, Jeffrey Kornblum on Percussion and last but not least the mesmerizing Chris Berry on Vocals.
A Mardi Gras party in 2014 brought the band together for the first time and by the end of the show both the musicians and the audience knew that this group had to continue. 4 years and many shows later, BEFE has developed a large repertoire of songs covering a wide range of NOLA talent from The Meters, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Louis Armstrong to The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Pimps of Joytime and Dumpstafunk.
Michael Henry, better known as DJ Marvel, is a renowned DJ, producer, and member of Vancouver’s premier DJ collective, The Freshest. Well-versed in contemporary genres, Marvel holds down residencies at some of Vancouver’s most popular nightclubs including Fortune Sound Club and Republic, where his Goodlife Sundays party recently celebrated its 11 year anniversary. His DJ talents have brought him across North America to rock parties coast to coast, from Los Angeles to New York City (The Rub / 1 Oak), and at major music festivals like Rock The Bells, Fvded In The Park, and South By Southwest.
On the production side, Marvel has garnered significant attention as ½ of Live Evil,a live production duo who have released music with P-Lo and Jay Worthy and recently performed at the legendary Low End Theory party in LA. His solo edits and remixes receive support from DJs all over the world. Because of his status as one of Vancouver’s strongest DJ ambassadors, Marvel was recently named a rep for global music resource platform DJ City. His role includes producing events and sourcing content by Canadian artists, DJs and producers for the music pool as well as for social media and editorial features.
Marvel's recent radio appearances include multiple guest sets for Sway In The Morning, CBC Radio, Much Music,& Virgin Radio as well as doing a monthly radio show with The Freshest. On the corporate side DJ Marvel's clients include, The NBA, Nike, Adidas, Stussy, Livestock, Aritzia, and Redbull.
